What is Sleep Medicine?
Sleep medicine is a medical subspecialty focused on diagnosing and treating sleep disorders and other sleep-related concerns. Sleep disorders are common and, if left untreated, can have significant long-term consequences, such as increased risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.
Meet Dr. Abdelrazzak, Sleep Medicine Physician
Dr. Ebrahim Abdelrazzak, “Dr. Razzak,” earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at Michigan State University (McLaren Flint) and is a triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.
He pursued a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Wayne State University (Detroit Medical Center) and a second Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Michigan State University (Ascension Genesys). During his fellowships, Dr. Razzak was Chief Fellow, serving as President of the Resident Fellow Council at Ascension Genesys, and was elected Fellow of the Year.
Dr. Razzak has co-authored numerous publications and is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Thoracic Society, and American Medical Association.
Committed to providing excellent care and service, Dr. Razzak listens to each patient’s concerns and is fluent in English and Arabic. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, boating, wake surfing, playing basketball, fishing, hunting, football, and soccer, and everything automobile-related.
