Dr. Schmidt is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and is a part of the expert team of orthopedic providers at Memorial Healthcare Center for Orthopedics. With over thirty years of practice experience, he is a resident of Owosso and has been practicing continuously here at Memorial Healthcare.
Dr. Schmidt attended the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at McLaren North Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Dr. Schmidt’s practice includes caring for both children and adults over a wide variety of injuries and conditions.
Over the course of more than 25 years Dr. Schmidt has been actively involved in the education and evaluation of orthopedic surgery graduate and practicing surgeons in meeting the standards for board certification. His dedication to education is honored in his being elected to Fellowships in both the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
Dr. Schmidt currently sees patients at Memorial Healthcare’s clinic locations in Owosso, St. Johns, and Flushing, Michigan.

Dr. Schmidt is fantastic. I always feel heard and never feel rushed. My relationship feels more like a trusted friendship, honestly.
Mr Schmidt call the guild up in my knee Gunk! He had X-rays and an MRI to go off from. That isn't what you expect from a medical profession.
Appreciated the fact that he had already read through the test results of an MRI I had and he realized I needed the problem resolved quickly to avoid further damage. He also went into detail how he would fix it.
The assistant and doctor were very attentive to my concerns and I would positively recommend this care provider to others

Dr. Schmidt is a very caring and concerned doctor. He offered all the options on dealing with knee pain prior to when I can have knee surgery.
I like Dr. Schmidt very much. He's very kind and knowledgeable and answers so my questions. He's had provided excellent care for me before and always gives straight answers even if they are not r exactly what I thought he would do it what I thought would happen but always provided excellent answers and reasoning for his decisions.
