OWOSSO, MI – January 3, 2023 – Memorial Healthcare has been recognized by the Women’s Choice Awards in two categories: Best Hospitals in Emergency Care and Best Hospitals for Mammogram Imaging.
Of those surveyed, 71% of patients claimed they would definitely recommend Memorial Healthcare for emergency care, with the hospital ranking in the top 1% of the 4,729 hospitals considered. Survey results placed the hospital within the top 25th percentile for the percentage of patients with stroke symptoms who receive brain scan results within 45 minutes, as well as for adherence to the severe sepsis and septic shock Early Management Bundle measure implemented by CMS in 2015.
“To be recognized as a hospital of choice among women and their families is an honor we at Memorial Healthcare do not take lightly,” said Brian Long, FACHE, president and CEO of Memorial Healthcare. “I commend our emergency and mammography providers and staff on their continued efforts to provide a respectful environment and efficient, timely care for our patients.”
The Women’s Choice Awards’ Best Hospitals program utilizes extensive surveys of women and research conducted with the Wharton School of Business to understand what drives a positive healthcare experience for women. Only the top 10% of U.S. hospitals are awarded, based on publicly available data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services (CMS) and other regulatory organizations which speaks to clinical performance, patient experience, and accreditation.
Qualification for the 2023 Mammogram Award is dependent upon a hospital’s breast care center being designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) by the American College of Radiologists. Memorial Healthcare’s mammography services – which offer patients the revolutionary Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam – have earned this accreditation, placing them in the top 10% of eligible hospitals with another 71% patient recommendation rating in this category.
