Tuesday, November 21, (2023) – Owosso, Michigan – Memorial Healthcare is pleased to announce Leanne Halligan, a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Long-Term Care Unit for being selected as our November Employee of the Month. Leanne has been employed at Memorial Healthcare since April, 2019.
According to her nomination, “Leanne always going above and beyond the call of duty. She exemplifies teamwork throughout everything she does within her unit. When her team faces staffing difficulties, Leanne steps up and takes on extra tasks to keep the team moving forward. She takes initiative to streamline processes and continuously pursues excellence for patients and coworkers alike. Leanne makes every patient and family member a priority. She is especially good at making them feel like they are the only focus in the moment. This makes her a great example of what patient care should look like. Leanne consistently finds new ways to help coworkers and inspires others to do the same. Her team spirit is infectious. She not only vocalizes what changes should be made in the Long-Term Care Unit but takes the lead in making those changes. Leanne is a model for what an employee should be!”
Leanne lives in Chesaning and has two sons. Her personal outlook is, “There is always room to improve and don’t ask people to do things you wouldn’t do yourself.” Leanne has been accepted into the LPN-RN Transition program at Delta College and will begin her nursing clinicals in January 2024. She would like to be remembered as the nurse that not only cared for the resident’s medical needs, but their emotional needs as well. On being honored as Memorial Healthcare’s Employee of the Month, Leanne quoted as saying, “It’s wonderful to be honored, but I couldn’t do my job without everyone on the Long-Term Care unit. Teamwork is what lets us take such good care of our residents.”
