The only impression I got from this dr is he was in a big hurry and my low back pain is basic.

Dr Roberts seems like a great Dr. My family trust him and his decision.

I will never recommend Richard Roberts to anyone as a matter of fact, I will tell people do not go to him because he does not know how to talk to his patient nor does he listen to their concerns and answer their questions he showed no sympathy acted like I was stupid and was very arrogant and unprofessional in the way he spoke to me and talked about what was going on. It was just as if he was going through a script and not concerned about me as his patient at all.

Great

Dr Roberts was very professional and kind. He explained why I am not currently a good person candidate for surgery because that is what I need. Dr Roberts also made the necessary referrals that I needed In order for me to become ready.

The assistant talked with the doctor and combined my son's appointment with mine as his appointment was for 2 1/2 hrs later. They made it very convenient for me.

Dr. Roberts answered all of my questions very clearly and encouraged me to write down questions for my next visit.

I felt as though the pain I have been experiencing for years was overlooked and seen as mostly "bad posture" while that is certainly the case for some of the disproportion of my back it is also attributed to the fact that breathing becomes harder the more I straighten my back. When asked if I felt tingling or numbness in my feet I brought up the fact that I get a burning feeling in my right big toe (the side that the pain is greater on in my lower back) Scoliosis by dr Robert's definition is 10 degrees or more. Mine is 8.4. That seemed to be the point where my back was deemed in pain due to "muscle weakness" and "bad posture" I felt as though any concerns I brought up were going to be talked down because it's not a bad enough case in his eyes. I will try the physical therapy he suggested (as that and over the counter pain medication were the only suggestions) but I don't believe I would recommend him to others. I don't believe you should have to fight at every turn for your pain to be taken seriously. Seeing as how the reviews on his page reflect similar views I believe his bedside manner could use some strengthening.

If you are old, you have to live with your pain. Tylenol doesn't ease the pain. Trying to contact the doctor about the pain gave us no answers.

Ratings Process

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.
