Monday, July 6 (2026) — Owosso, Michigan – Memorial Healthcare is pleased to announce that Valerie Hooper, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist, has joined Memorial Healthcare Counseling Services, expanding access to comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services for individuals and families throughout the region.
Dr. Hooper joins the Counseling Services team alongside Stacy Schaufele, LMSW, and Sarah Tomcala, LPC, further strengthening Memorial Healthcare’s commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for the community.
Dr. Hooper earned her Doctorate in Clinical and Forensic Psychology from the School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute in Springfield, Missouri. She brings extensive experience in both clinical and forensic psychology, most recently serving as CEO and Licensed Clinical & Forensic Psychologist at Vitality Psychological Services in Columbia, Missouri.
Throughout her career, Dr. Hooper has conducted psychological and forensic assessments for Missouri courts, law enforcement agencies, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), disability determinations, and school districts. She also has experience providing psychological services in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings through her previous work at McLaren Hospital.
At Memorial Healthcare Counseling Services, Dr. Hooper provides individual therapy for patients ages 12 and older with a wide range of mental health concerns. She also offers psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological testing for patients ages 6 and older, helping individuals and families better understand cognitive, behavioral, and emotional health needs.
Dr. Hooper is now accepting new patients and participates with most major insurance plans.
