Wednesday, August 27, (2025) – Owosso, MI – Memorial Healthcare will be hosting a FREE community Lunch and Learn presentation on Thursday, September 25th from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (doors open at 11:30 am) in Owosso and will be presented by Dr. Ashraf Elbanna, an Orthopedic Surgeon at Memorial Healthcare.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection therapy is a quick and simple outpatient procedure where blood is drawn from the patient’s arm and placed in a specialized centrifuge that separates and concentrates the platelets. Using ultrasound guidance, the platelets are then injected directly into the injury site by one of our providers. The platelets are obtained from a patient’s own blood and have many growth factors which can help with healing for patients with osteoarthritis, post-surgical healing, and tendon and soft tissue injuries.
